2008 C.C.C.G. Fall Director's Workshop
with
Anton Armstrong and
Eric Nelson
was held on Saturday, September 19 and Saturday,
September 20, 2008 at Providence
Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Workshop chair was Carey Cannon, Director of Music Ministry at
Providence Baptist Church
The
Workshop began on Friday at noon with an open rehearsal of the Wingate
University Singers and Chamber Choir with both Anton and Eric. The choirs
are directed by Kenny Potter.
Workshop sessions followed on the
following subjects:
"The Evolving Adult Singer" - Eric Nelson
"The Evolving Adolescent Singer" - Anton Armstrong
"Conducting Master Class" - Anton Armstrong
That evening offered a treat in the form of a
worship service shaped around the choral anthems found in the reading packet.
Participants were able to follow along as the Wingate choirs sang, conducted by
Anton, Eric and their director, Kenny Potter.
Saturday's sessions were on the following
subjects:
"Connecting Craft to Ministry" -
Eric Nelson
"Our Vocational Calling as Pastoral Musicians" - Anton Armstrong
"Conducting Master Class" - Eric Nelson"
"Open discussion with Anton and Eric"
Workshop
attendees came from all over North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and
Florida.
